About the event
Hailing from Minneapolis, Alex Rossi is a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter who has been performing professionally for over 25 years. With deep roots in blues, soul, and funk, Rossi has developed a unique and recognizable sound shaped by his diverse musical background. His performances most often feature a 3–5 piece band and an infectious energy that keeps the dance floor moving.
Rossi formed and fronted Root City in 1998, beginning as a blues trio before evolving into a full band complete with a horn section and fellow Minneapolis beatboxer Heatbox. Root City became a mainstay of the Minneapolis music scene, including its legendary Wednesday night residency at Gluek’s. Rossi is also a cast member and co-creator of Rhythmic Circus.
